MSA opens European Principal Office in Switzerland

Rapperswil-Jona, December 18, 2014

MSA Safety Inc., (NYSE: MSA), the leading global supplier of safety products that protect people and facility infrastructures, today celebrated the grand opening of its new European Principal Office in Rapperswil-Jona, near Zürich, Switzerland.

Erich Zoller (Mayor Rapperswil-Jona) and Beat Ulrich (Canton St. Gallen, Head of Business Location, Delegate for FDI Promotion) joined MSA President and CEO William M. Lambert and Ronald N. Herring (President MSA Europe) and 40 invited guests and MSA associates for the official ribbon cutting ceremony.

The building will serve as the new central location for MSA’s European Senior Management Team as well as its Swiss sales office. “We are very pleased with the professional environment and the great quality of life the Rapperswil-Jona area has to offer,” Mr. Herring said. “From the very outset, the support we have received from the community to start our business here was fantastic. We are very much looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the community.”

On January 5th 2015, MSA will officially transition to a new European business structure with the new European Principal Company, MSA Europe GmbH, located in Rapperswil-Jona. “By managing Europe with central leadership in Switzerland, combined with standardized processes that are enabled by a common IT platform, we are confident that this new business model for MSA Europe will provide meaningful benefits for our customers and shareholders. 
And, with the improved competitiveness we expect from this change, MSA can continue to grow its market share by protecting workers with the best safety equipment available and providing them with a customer experience unmatched in the industry,” Mr. Herring concluded.
